Meg Murray, her brother Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin O'Keefe embark on a celestial journey through the tesseract in search of Meg's missing father. Aided by three supernatural old ladies, the children visit strange and fantastical planets, including Camazotz, which has succumbed to an evil force called the Dark Thing. In order to safe her father and those she cares about, Meg must face the terrifying supreme being IT and ultimately herself.
