In this satirical fairy tale, a community of barnyard animals grow tired of their tyrannical farmer and hold a revolution. They decide to call their new paradise Animal Farm and all agree to live in perfect equality with one another, including the pigs, who decide to use their natural intelligence to act as the farm's administrators. At first Animal Farm seems like a paradise- however, when their leaders start to fall into corruption and greed, things take a dark turn. Written in the 1940s in response to the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, Animal Farm is a symbol for governments who take power too far.
