Percy Jackson always knew he was a weird kid- he just didn't know how weird. Set apart by a lifetime of ADHD, dyslexia, and an out-of-the-picture dad, Percy still isn't expecting it when his best friend Grover reveals himself to be satyr (as in, part goat) and admits that Percy is a half-blood, a child of one of the Greek gods or goddesses. Now Percy must flee to Camp Half-Blood while being pursued by a mythical monster hungry for his blood. But when his mother dies on his way to camp, and he discovers that the gods are fighting amongst themselves to discover who stole Zeus' fabled lightning bolt, Percy accepts a quest to the Underworld to restore the bolt and rescue his mother. Now Percy, Grover, and their brilliant and snarky companion Annabeth embark on a journey full of danger, monsters, and comedy, unaware that they hold the fate of the world in their hands.
